Cafe Ownership

As many of you have already noticed, Flapjacks Cafe has been updated.  New paint, new tables and chairs, and new ownership.  It has been an exciting adventure for the Cupano family and we would love sharing that story.  Helen Keller once said “Life is a daring adventure, or nothing at all”.

It all started about a year ago, when we decided that we no longer wanted to suffer though another northeast winter.  We were living out side of Philly in a wonderful town call West Chester.  Every fall we would have the same conversation about the impending winter…oh here it comes let’s batten down the hatches and begin hibernation.  As a family who loves the beach and warm weather activities this was hard.  Early this year, in the dead of winter, the decision was made…time to move to a warm climate.

We began the search across the country for somewhere warm, friendly, and near the water.  Well low and behold we found ourselves drawn to Venice.  The area had everything we wanted and more.

At this point it was time to “retire” from our day jobs in education and follow our dream of owning a small restaurant.  As luck would have it, we found the perfect place…Flapjacks Cafe!  We packed up the kids, the cats, the house and made the move.

We have loved the warm welcome Venice has provided us and love each and every day at the Cafe.  Someone smarter then me once said:  If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life!  Next time you stop in to Flapjacks for a completely satisfying meal and you want to hear more about our story, feel free to ask.  But, be warned we may just grab a cup of joe, pull up a chair and chat your ear off.

See ya soon!
