The Pineapple showed up on our feature board, our menu, our business cards, and even made an appearance as a jack- o -lantern during the halloween parade!  So what’s up with that pineapple everywhere?

The pineapple has a long history of how it developed into the symbol it is today.  If you want to read all about it, you can click here to read up on the Pineapple history.   I’ll give you the short story as to why we choose the Pineapple as part of our logo at Flapjacks Cafe.

First and foremost the Pineapple is a symbol of hospitality.  Displaying it in a home conveyed you were welcome, that you were valued as a guest by served the best food, that you will be treated like family, and to expect good cheer!  I can’t think of a better way to describe Flapjacks!   A Pineapple is also a tropical fruit.  One that we associate with warm climates and a relaxing setting.  These tropical fruits became the food for kings.  The taste and consistency were the pinnacle of good eating.

When choosing something that would represent all that we wanted to convey about the new Flapjacks Cafe, the Pineapple was the way to go.  A symbol of hospitality, a food for king’s feasts, and tropical in nature…perfect!
